Studio accounts have three tiers parallel to mentor accounts, but with higher pricing and different feature gating reflecting the larger scope of studio operations.

Free tier
A real free tier. You can run a single-location studio with up to 3 custom mentors and 5 platform-mentor invitations without paying anything.
What you get on free:
- One location.
- Up to 3 custom mentors.
- Up to 5 platform-mentor co-listing invitations.
- A public studio profile.
- Unlimited classes and bookings.
- Stripe Connect + manual payment methods.
- The studio CRM.
- Reviews.
For a small new studio just testing things: free is fine.
When to upgrade to Pro
The Free tier becomes constraining when:
- You have 2+ physical locations.
- You have more than 3 in-house teachers.
- You want to invite more than 5 platform mentors to co-list.
- You want to look serious in the directory (featured placement matters).
- You want financial reporting in-platform.
Pro at $149/month is roughly the cost of one paid class per week. If your studio runs even modest volume (say, 15 classes a week at $20 average), Pro covers itself many times over via the visibility and tools.
When to upgrade to Premium
Premium ($299/month) is for:
- Studios that want the embed widget on their own website.
- Studios with 4+ locations.
- Studios with 10+ in-house teachers.
- Studios where API integration / MCP / heavy automation matters.
- Studios that want priority support during major launches.
- Studios migrating from another platform with significant data.
The embed widget is the single biggest Premium feature. If you have a marketing website (most established studios do), embedding the booking widget keeps students on your site instead of routing them to MoveMentors. That is significantly worth $299/month for studios with real web traffic.
Pricing rationale
Studio tiers are 5x mentor tiers because studios:
- Run more transaction volume.
- Have more locations to manage.
- Use more teacher roster slots.
- Often have more sophisticated integrations.
- Get more value from features per dollar (visibility benefits a studio brand more than an individual mentor).
There is no "per-seat" pricing or "per-teacher" pricing. The price is flat regardless of how active your studio is. A studio doing 5 classes per week pays the same as one doing 50.
Billing cadence
Same as mentor tiers: monthly or annual. Annual saves 2 months (10x monthly).
Switching tiers
Same mechanics as mentor tiers. Upgrade takes effect immediately; downgrade at end of period. See upgrading and downgrading.
If you downgrade from Premium to Pro:
- Locations beyond 3 become inactive (not deleted; you can reactivate by upgrading).
- Custom mentors beyond 10 become inactive.
- Platform-mentor invitations beyond 15 become inactive.
- Embed widget snippet stops rendering (the script returns empty).
If you downgrade from Pro to Free:
- Locations beyond 1 become inactive.
- Most paid-tier features turn off (financial reporting, etc).
Reactivating an inactive feature is just upgrading back; nothing is deleted.
Cancelling
Same as mentor: cancel any time, service continues to end of current period, then moves to Free.
The studio profile, classes, mentor roster, and bookings all stay through the transition. You just lose the paid features.
Common questions
Can my studio have multiple admins on different tiers? There is one account per studio. The tier applies to the studio, not per-admin. (Multi-admin support is on the roadmap.)
Are studio tiers more or less profitable than mentor tiers for us? We do not optimise for one over the other. Studios have higher per-account revenue but also more support burden; mentors have lower revenue but volume. Across the platform they net out.
My studio is also an individual mentor. Should I pay both? Each account is its own tier and bill. If you run a studio account AND have your own mentor account, you pay both. Most studio operators do not also have a mentor account; one account serves the purpose.
Is there a discount for non-profits? Email support with proof of non-profit status. We offer discounts on a case-by-case basis.
Is there a discount for annual prepay? Yes. Annual is 10× monthly, so you get 2 months free (16-17% discount). Mentioned in the pricing table above.
