Every paid class, event and retreat booking offers an optional tip, whatever payment method the booker picks. They tick the tip box and choose 10%, 15% or 20%, or type their own amount. The percentage is worked out on the class price (after any promo code), not on add-ons.
Tipping is free on every plan, and MoveMentors takes no cut.
How the tip reaches you
- Card: the tip is added to the Stripe checkout as its own line and goes to your Stripe account together with the class price.
- Cash, bank transfer, PayPal and other off-platform methods: the tip is recorded on the booking, and the booker pays it to you along with the class price. Check the booking so you know how much to collect.
Where you see it
- Booking details: the booking shows the class price, the tip and any add-ons.
- Earnings export: each booking's tip appears next to its amount. See Exporting your earnings to CSV.
- Stripe Dashboard: card tips show as their own line on the payment.
Fees
MoveMentors takes no percentage of tips. On card payments, Stripe's normal processing fee applies to the whole payment, tip included.
Can I turn tipping off?
There is no setting to turn tipping off. The tip box is always optional, so bookers who don't want to tip simply leave it unticked.
Private sessions
Private sessions booked from your open time slots don't have a tip step.
Retreats and the embed widget
On a retreat with a payment plan, the tip is added to the first payment at checkout; later payments don't ask again. Bookings made through your embed widget offer the same optional tip as your booking pages.
