They choose a date and book as a guest or with an account. Parents can book for their children from one account.

A card payment holds the seat for 30 minutes and confirms the booking once it goes through. Cash, bank transfer and free bookings confirm straight away.
They get reminders
Clients get a confirmation email and a reminder before class, and can cancel or reschedule within your policy.

Studio accounts add an instructor roster with employee and renter roles, a teacher assigned to each session, room scheduling that stops double bookings, and room rentals to visiting teachers. The pricing page shows what each studio plan includes.
Paying yearly saves 17% for teachers and 15% for studios. Card payments carry Stripe's processing fee, taken from each payment. A boost, which lists one session first in the directory until it starts, costs $5 on any plan and is not refundable.

A donation-based online sit on Mondays, a monthly sound bath for 20 mats at a yoga studio, and a three-day spring retreat paid in three installments. The online sit needs Pro; the retreat and its installments need Premium at $19.99 a month.
Comparing booking systems
Before you sign up for any booking system, check three things: how long the contract runs, whether it takes a cut of each booking, and what setup costs. MoveMentors has no contract, no booking commission and no setup fee, and you can set it up yourself on the free plan.

- Retreats and installment payments are part of Premium. On other plans, a multi-day program runs as an event paid in a single payment.
- No no-show fees. Late cancellations follow the class refund policy, and nothing extra is charged.
- No automatic cancellation when a class is under-booked. You decide, and you cancel it yourself.
- No unlisted or invite-only classes. Every published class shows on your public profile.
- No level filter in the directory yet. You can set a level on each class, and it shows on the class page.
- No iOS or Android app. Clients book in the browser and can add MoveMentors to their home screen.
- No payroll. Studios pay their instructors outside MoveMentors.
- Studio accounts do not sell class packs or memberships yet. Those are part of teacher plans.
Frequently asked questions
Can I offer donation-based meditation sessions?
Yes, on every plan. Turn on pay what you can, set a suggested amount and a minimum, which can be zero, and students choose what they pay at checkout. The class page shows a pay-what-you-can badge with your suggested amount.
Can I run meditation sessions online?
Yes, on Pro at $9.99 a month, or on Premium. Connect Google Calendar for Google Meet, or connect Zoom. The join link is created when a booking confirms and is sent in the confirmation email. Paid online sessions are paid by card; free ones need no payment.
Can retreat guests pay in installments?
Yes, on Premium at $19.99 a month. Split the retreat price into 2 to 6 card payments, the first at booking and the rest on dates tied to the retreat start. The charges run automatically. Retreats have their own refund tiers of 90, 60 or 30 days, or a custom one.
Can I host a sound bath at someone else's studio?
Yes. Add the studio as the session location and set capacity to the mats in the room. If the studio lists its rooms on MoveMentors, you can also ask to rent the space from its studio page.
Do people need an account to book?
No. Guests book with a name and an email address, pay, and get a confirmation by email. People who book often can make a free account to keep their bookings in one place.
Does MoveMentors take a cut of donations or bookings?
No. There is no booking commission on any plan, including pay-what-you-can bookings and tips. Stripe's processing fee applies to card payments.
