• How does MoveMentors work?

  MoveMentors is a directory and booking platform for independent movement teachers and small studios, covering Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Meditation & Breathwork, fitness and more. Browse by city or style, check the schedule, price and cancellation policy, and book directly, in person or online. Your payment goes to the teacher or studio, and MoveMentors takes no commission.

• How much does MoveMentors cost?

  Booking is free for students: you pay the class price, and MoveMentors adds no booking fee. Teachers and studios can list for free. Paid plans with extra tools start at $9.99 a month for teachers and $49 a month for studios, and no plan takes a booking commission.

• Are teachers on MoveMentors verified?

  Only their identity, and only when you see the badge. Teachers on a paid plan can verify their ID with Stripe Identity, and their profile then shows an ID verified badge. Certifications on a profile are added by the teacher and are not reviewed by MoveMentors, so ask about their training if it matters to you.

• Can I book a class without creating an account?

  Yes. You can book as a guest with only your name and email. With an account you can message your instructor, see all your bookings in one place, and pick up where you left off on any device.

• How are private and group classes different?

  A private class is one-on-one and shaped around your goals, usually at a studio, at your home or outdoors. A group class has a fixed number of places (usually 8 to 25 students) and follows a sequence the instructor leads. Private gives you more attention. Group gives you company and usually costs less per session.

• What is the cancellation policy?

  Each teacher or studio sets one cancellation policy for their classes, shown before you book. Flexible: full refund up to 24 hours before. Moderate: full refund up to 48 hours before, then 50% until 24 hours before. Strict: full refund up to 7 days before, then 50% until 24 hours before. None of them refunds a cancellation in the last 24 hours. Retreats have their own policies, with longer windows.

• Does MoveMentors charge commission?

  No. MoveMentors takes 0% commission on class payments; teachers and studios only pay a flat subscription if they choose a paid plan. Card payments go straight to the teacher's or studio's own Stripe account, so Stripe's processing fee applies (about 2.9% plus 30 cents in the US, and it varies by country). Payments in cash or by bank transfer carry no card fee.

• Who runs MoveMentors?

  Julien de Bats founded MoveMentors in 2026 and runs it from Aruba. The company behind it is Digital Envision, LLC, registered in Delaware, USA. The About page has the full story and a direct email for the founder.
