Mentor accounts have three tiers. You start on Free; you can upgrade to Pro or Premium any time.

Free tier
The free tier is genuinely free and the limits are not artificial. You can:
- Have a public profile.
- Create unlimited classes.
- Accept unlimited bookings.
- Take card payments (Stripe takes their cut; we take nothing).
- Take any manual payment method.
- Read and respond to reviews.
- Use the mobile app.
- Build a meaningful business on MoveMentors without paying us anything.
What the free tier does NOT have:
- Your certifications stay private (you can upload them, but they do not display on your profile).
- Your directory placement is at the bottom of any tier-tied tie-break.
- Financial reporting / expense tracking is hidden.
- No advanced calendar features.
- No MCP integration.
For new mentors testing the platform: start on free. You can stay free indefinitely.
Pro tier ($29/month)
The middle tier. Designed for mentors who are actively teaching and want better tools and visibility.
What you unlock
Featured placement. Directory results tie-break in your favour. When two mentors otherwise rank equally, Pro mentors appear above Free mentors. Not a guarantee of top placement, but a meaningful boost.
Verified pill. Your approved certifications display on your profile, and a "verified" badge appears next to your name. Students notice this; it converts.
Financial reporting. The full earnings dashboard, expense tracking, payout reconciliation, CSV exports. If you do not have an external accounting system, this can replace it.
Full calendar sync. Two-way push to Google or Apple Calendar with every session as an event.
Push notifications on the mobile app. Real-time alerts on bookings, cancellations, reviews. Without Pro, you rely on email only.
MCP integration. Connect AI assistants to your dashboard so they can manage bookings, schedules, and clients on your behalf (with your authorisation). See MCP server.
Worth it if
- You teach 5+ classes per week.
- You want to look professional with the verified pill.
- You do at least 10 bookings per month.
- You want financial tracking without a separate accounting tool.
- You use Google or Apple Calendar daily.
A rough breakeven: if Pro brings you 2-3 extra bookings per month (at typical $25-50 per booking), it pays for itself.
Premium tier ($69/month)
The top tier. Designed for serious mentors and small studio-like operations.
What you unlock beyond Pro
Embed widget. A JavaScript snippet you paste into your own website to let visitors book your classes inline. Premium-only.
Higher API rate limits. If you use the MCP integration heavily or have automation hitting the platform, Premium increases your rate limit ceiling 5x.
Priority support. Support emails from Premium accounts get triaged first. Average response time under 8 hours for Premium versus 1-2 business days for Free/Pro.
Larger image uploads. 10MB cap on profile and class photos (vs 4MB on lower tiers).
White-glove migration. If you are coming from another platform (MindBody, Acuity, etc), Premium support includes help importing your client list, class schedules, and historical data.
Worth it if
- You have your own marketing website and want to use the embed widget.
- You teach 15+ classes per week.
- You have an established business with 50+ regular clients.
- You connect AI assistants to the platform regularly.
- You are migrating from another platform and want migration assistance.
If you do not have your own marketing site, the Premium tier's main feature (embed widget) does not apply. Pro is the right choice.
Billing cadence
You can pay monthly or annually. Annual saves you 2 months: 10x the monthly rate.
- Monthly: billed at the start of each month. Cancel anytime; service continues to the end of the paid month.
- Annual: billed once a year. Cancel anytime; service continues to the end of the annual period.
Switching tiers
You can upgrade or downgrade any time at /mentor/settings/billing.
Upgrading takes effect immediately. You are prorated for the rest of the current month at the new rate.
Downgrading takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep the higher tier's features until your renewal date. After the renewal, you are on the lower tier.

Cancelling
You can cancel any time. Cancellation does not refund the current period; it just stops future renewals.
Cancelling moves you to the Free tier at the end of your current period. Your profile, classes, and bookings all stay; you just lose the paid features (featured placement, embed widget, etc).
Common questions
Is there a free trial of Pro or Premium? Not currently. The free tier is the trial; it is robust enough to evaluate the platform without committing to a subscription.
Can I pause my subscription? Not natively. Cancel and resubscribe later. Your data is preserved.
Can I get a refund if I just signed up? We are flexible on this. Email support within 14 days of signing up for Pro or Premium and we will refund.
Do mentors and studios share the same tiers? No. Studios have a parallel set of tiers with different pricing (Free $0, Pro $149/mo, Premium $299/mo). See studio subscription tiers.
Can I have multiple tiers active on the same account? No. One tier per account.
