Some teachers offer one-to-one sessions you can book at a time that suits you, without waiting for a class. When a teacher offers them, their profile has a Book a private session button, and a section with the same name further down the page. You don't need an account.
How to book
- Open the teacher's profile and select Book a private session.
- How long? Pick a length. Each one shows its price.
- Which day? Only days with open times are shown, up to 30 days ahead.
- What time? Pick a time, grouped into morning, afternoon and evening. Times are in the teacher's time zone. If you are somewhere else, your own time is shown under each one.
- Your details. Add your name and email (skipped if you are signed in) and, if you like, a note for the teacher: an injury, what you want to work on.
- Check the summary next to it: what, when, where, the price, how you pay and the cancellation rule. Then select the Book button.
Your session is confirmed straight away. You land on your booking page and get an email with the details and a calendar invite.
If the teacher works in more than one place, you choose Where? first.
Paying
Nothing is charged when you book. You pay the teacher directly, with one of the ways they accept, such as cash, a bank transfer or Venmo. If there is more than one, you choose while booking, and the details (an account, a handle, "cash on the day") are on your booking page and in your email.
If you are signed in and hold a class pack from that teacher, the session is booked with a pack credit and there is nothing to pay. Some teachers offer a free length, for example a first meeting.
Moving or cancelling
Open your booking page from the link in your confirmation email, or from My Bookings if you have an account, and select Cancel booking. The page tells you what happens before you confirm. The teacher's cancellation policy applies; with the most common one, cancelling is free up to 24 hours before.
Need a different time? Cancel and book the time you want, or write to the teacher by replying to your confirmation email.
None of the times work
Under the open times, select Ask for another time. Say which days suit you, the time of day, how many people, and anything else the teacher should know. Nothing is booked or charged. The teacher writes back by email with a time and a price, or lets you know they can't.
If a teacher's profile shows Request a private session instead of Book a private session, they have not opened any times yet, and the request form is the way to ask.
Private sessions at a studio
Some studios let teachers take private bookings in their rooms. You still book on the teacher's profile, where the studio room appears as one of the places.
