Gift a class

Buy a class for someone else. You pay by card, they get an email with a gift code, and they pick the date that suits them.

Students

You can buy a class for someone else. You pay for it by card, they get an email with a gift code, and they pick the date that suits them. The gift is good for one year.

Where to find it

On the class page, in the booking panel, select Gift this class.

If you've already started booking and realise it's for someone else, the booking form has the same option. Next to Is this for someone else?, select Send it as a gift.

Gift this class only shows on a paid class from a teacher who accepts card payments. Free classes can't be gifted: share the link to the class page instead. Classes listed by a studio can't be gifted yet.

What you fill in

  • Recipient's name
  • Recipient's email. The gift code goes to this address, and the person signs in with this same address to use the gift. Check the spelling.
  • From: your name, as it should appear on the gift.
  • Your email, if you're not signed in. The recipient never sees it.
  • Add a note (optional): a short message for the recipient, up to 500 characters. You can leave it empty.

Everything except the note is needed. You don't need an account to send a gift. You can't send a gift to your own email address.

Paying

Select Continue to payment. You pay the class price by card on Stripe's secure checkout page. The payment goes to the teacher, the same way as a normal card booking.

After you pay, you land on a page that confirms the gift. It shows the recipient, the amount, the gift code and the Use by date.

You also get a receipt by email. It shows what you bought, who it's for, the amount, the gift code, the use-by date and how the recipient uses the gift.

If you leave the checkout without paying, nothing is charged. You can send the gift from the class page whenever you're ready.

What the recipient gets

As soon as your payment goes through, the recipient gets an email saying you sent them the class. It includes:

  • Your note, if you wrote one
  • The class and the teacher
  • Their gift code
  • The date to use it by
  • A Redeem your gift button

The email is written in the language you were using on MoveMentors when you sent the gift.

No date is booked yet. The recipient chooses.

How the recipient uses the gift

  1. Open the email

    Select Redeem your gift.

  2. Sign in with the right email

Sign in, or create a free account, with the email address the gift was sent to. The code only works with that address, and the address has to be verified.

  3. Pick a day

Under Pick your day, choose one of the upcoming sessions and select Book this session.

The booking is confirmed straight away, with nothing more to pay. The recipient lands on their booking page, just like after any other booking.

The recipient can also use the code without the email button. They go to movementors.com/redeem, sign in with the email address the gift was sent to, type the gift code into the box under Redeem your code and select Redeem code.

Good to know

  • One gift covers one spot in one session of that class.
  • The gift is valid for one year from the day you buy it. After the use-by date it can't be used.
  • Each code works once.
  • If no upcoming sessions are listed, the recipient can check back later.
  • If the session they wanted is full, they pick another one.
  • A gift can't be cancelled or refunded online. If something went wrong, contact the teacher, who received the payment.

Common questions

Can I send a gift to someone who has no MoveMentors account? Yes. They create a free account with the email address the gift was sent to when they use it.

Can the recipient pass the gift on to someone else? No. The code is tied to the email address you entered.

Can I gift several classes at once? Each gift is one class for one person. To give more, send another gift.
