Reminders send your clients a short message before their class. Each one goes out on WhatsApp first and falls back to a plain text automatically if the client has no WhatsApp, from the same number either way. It is the channel that reaches the people email and app notifications miss, which is exactly the clients who forget and no-show.
Opt-in add-on, prepaid. You turn it on, buy credit, and pay about $0.10 per message, whether it lands as WhatsApp or as a text. The charge is on your MoveMentors account, completely separate from the money your clients pay you for classes, so your class payments are untouched and still arrive with zero commission.
Turning it on
Go to Settings → Text reminders and turn the add-on on, then add credit. Credit is prepaid: you buy a balance, each message draws about $0.10 from it, and when it runs out we simply stop sending and fall back to the email reminder you already send. There is no surprise bill.
Choosing which messages send
You decide which kinds of message go out, under Settings → Text reminders:
- Class reminders. A reminder the day before and one shortly before class. On by default.
- Cancellation notices. A short message if you cancel the class, or if the client cancels their own booking. On by default.
- Booking confirmation. A message right after someone books. Off by default, so you can leave it off if email is enough.
Turn off any type you do not want, and you are only billed for the ones you keep on.
How clients opt in
A message only goes to a client who has added and verified their phone number. You can make a phone number a required step at checkout (also in Settings → Text reminders); when that is on, anyone booking your classes confirms a number with a one-time code before the booking completes. Clients can reply STOP to any message to opt out, and that is honored everywhere automatically.
What the message looks like
The message comes from MoveMentors with your studio or your name at the front, so the client knows who it is from, and it includes a View booking button so they can open the booking to see the details or reschedule:
Good Life Pilates: your Pilates class is tomorrow 9:00 AM. Reply STOP to opt out.
Two reminders are sent for each booking: one the day before, and one shortly before the class starts.
Where it works
Version one supports phone numbers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. More countries are coming. A client whose number is outside these can still book; they just get the email reminder instead.
What it costs
About $0.10 per message, drawn from your prepaid balance, the same whether it goes out on WhatsApp or as a text. A typical small studio sending a couple of hundred reminders a month spends a few dollars. You only ever pay for messages that actually send to a client who opted in, and only for the message types you leave turned on.
