About this class
Hello Salseros from outside of the US! My name is Keva Price and I am a Physical Therapist and Certified Pilates Instructor in the Washington DC area, in the United States. Here's more information on how my class is unique and how it can can benefit you on the dance floor and in your busy life. Benefits of the Class: Enhanced Whole-Body Awareness: You will be introduced to somatics, interoception and proprioception to learn how to focus on the internal feeling of what is happening in the body when you're moving vs. relying on copying the look of an instructor. You will be able to reproduce the movements you want without the instructor's guidance. A key concept in Continued Extended and Completed moves with control and precision (Pilates Principles) Spinal Mobility & Strength: Focuses on desk-countering exercises to improve posture, open the chest, strengthen core muscles, and improve the fluidity of your body movement also mitigating the negative effects of sitting at a desk.

I am a Pilates Instructor who has been a Physical Therapist for over 25 years. I teach traditional Pilates exercises and have developed my own unique style of teaching. I teach Pilates from a prehab perspective because I have experienced various joint issues over the years due to multijoint instability. I have also been a dancer since the age of 6. This led me to develop KhoreoPils for group classes and home exercises. They are Pilates based movement sequences to help people move with more body awareness in a fun way. KhoreoPIls (KPils) help motivate you to exercise daily because they are short. Currently I strength train, dance and teach salsa and I personaly understand the importance of guided, consistent and focused full body conditioning, especially Pilates, in keeping your body strong and capable of doing the things you love.
